Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using TimeSync, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

1. Service Description

TimeSync is a multi-language, multi-track, multi-venue event timing system.The service provides:

  • Real-time timing coordination for event programs
  • Multi-role access (Language Chairman, Speaker, Overseer, etc.)
  • Event management and scheduling tools
  • Secure authentication and access control
  • Timer displays and progress tracking

2. User Accounts and Access

Account Creation

  • User accounts are created by authorized administrators only
  • Self-registration is not permitted
  • Users must authenticate via Google OAuth or event access codes
  • Each user is assigned a specific role with defined permissions

Account Security

  • Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access codes
  • Users must not share login credentials or access codes
  • Users must notify administrators immediately of any security breaches
  • Accounts may be suspended or terminated for security violations

3. Acceptable Use

Permitted Use

You may use TimeSync only for:

  • Managing timing for authorized conventions and assemblies
  • Accessing timer information relevant to your assigned role
  • Coordinating event schedules and programs
  • Supporting event administration activities

Prohibited Use

You must NOT:

  • Use the service for any unauthorized or illegal activities
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Share access codes or credentials with unauthorized persons

4. User Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: Provide accurate and current information
  • Role Compliance: Use the service only within your assigned role permissions
  • Event Coordination: Follow proper protocols for timing and event management
  • Technical Requirements: Ensure adequate internet connection and compatible devices
  • Data Protection: Protect confidential event and participant information
  • Reporting Issues: Report technical problems or security concerns promptly

5. Service Availability

Service Levels

  • We strive to maintain high availability during scheduled events
  • Planned maintenance will be scheduled outside of event times when possible
  • Emergency maintenance may be performed at any time if necessary
  • Service interruptions will be communicated to users when possible

Support

  • Technical support is available during event hours
  • Urgent support requests can be made via WhatsApp contacts provided
  • General inquiries can be submitted via email
  • Response times may vary based on the nature and urgency of requests

6. Intellectual Property

Service Ownership

  • TimeSync and all related software, designs, and content are proprietary
  • Users receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the service
  • Users may not copy, modify, or distribute the service or its components
  • All improvements and modifications remain our intellectual property

User Content

  • Users retain ownership of event data and content they input
  • Users grant us a license to use this data to provide the service
  • We will not use user data for any purpose other than service provision
  • Users are responsible for ensuring they have rights to any uploaded content

7. Privacy and Data Protection

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Disclaimers

  • The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Users are responsible for backup plans in case of service interruptions
  • We are not liable for damages resulting from service unavailability

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.

9. Termination

Account Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms
  • Users may request account deletion at any time
  • Termination may be immediate for serious violations
  • Upon termination, user access to the service will cease

  • Event data may be retained for administrative purposes after events conclude
  • Personal information will be handled according to our Privacy Policy
  • Users may request data deletion subject to legal and operational requirements

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via email or service announcements. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms or use of the service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

12. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
